East Kelowna Cider

Charles (Grandpa) Ross purchased the orchard in 1942, the 20 acre orchard was planted with mainly apples and a small block of cherrys. When Grandpa reached retirement each of his sons, David Albert and Kennith Charles bought 10 acres from him and changed the orchard planting to only apples. Dave Sr married and had three children in his father's family home. Today Dave Jr and his wife Theressa own Ken's 10 acre piece and are managing the family homestead.

The two orchards combined have 7 varieties of apples producing around 300,000lbs every year. A small percentage goes to the cidery and the rest are sold privately. The market for apples has been going down drasticly over the last serveral years. Peaches along with a small amount of pears and plums were introduced into the orchard in order to diversify and add cash flow. All of the fruit grown on our farm is available in our on site store.
