The Wineries of The

Fraser Valley

Planes, trains and automobiles:
The dozen-or-so wineries of the Fraser Valley are just a hop, skip, and a jump from Vancouver giving you the absolute best of both worlds: Rustic wine touring within an hour of hotels with 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets!

What to wear:
Vancouverites define a "scorcher" as any day in which the mercury hits 25 degrees (75 degrees if you speak American). But because it's inland, the Fraser Valley can be considerably warmer. Bring a sweater but leave the stilettos at home. This is farm country and it's no place for your Louboutins.

Best bets for your cellar:
You know those slurp-a-licious, aromatic whites that everyone loves in the summer? This is a great place to sample them. The Valley is also well known for its fruit and berry wines. On that note, here's some food (or rather, drink) for thought: If a glass of red wine per day is good for you and the super antioxidants in, say, blueberries are good for you...could blueberry wine be the fountain of youth? We hope to be part of the research team investigating this compelling theory!
