Glenterra Vineyards

Glenterra wines are single vineyard Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer & Pinot Noir. We also make two very interesting blends the Vivace white & Brio red from our old vineyard block which has 40 unique grape varieties. At Glenterra, our winemaking emphasizes a natural approach, minimal intervention, no use of enzymes, animal based fining agents (vegan friendly) and no filtration of the red wines. For our red and white wines, we hand-pick the grapes, allow a wild yeast fermentations, and for some wines use extended aging on the lees in both stainless steel tanks & oak barrels. Both the lees contact and cooperage help to express the minerality and nuance of the wines and lend a complexity and depth to the mouth-feel. For our red wines, we use a cool soak pre-fermentation, aerative punchdowns by hand 3 to 4 times daily, and finish with an extended maceration. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French & American oak barrels.The blends are assembled 12 to 18 months after harvest. These protocols, used by Glenterra's winemaker, John Kelly, produce stylistically unique wines with lush fruit, bright acidity and integrated tannins.
